The brand, the recipes, the suppliers, the POS, the CCTV, the training and a live ordering platform your outlet joins on day one. You bring a location and the discipline to run it well.
A ZEN Z outlet is a business you operate. It earns what it sells, minus what it costs to run. That depends on your location, your hours, your staff and your discipline — none of which we control. Anybody in this industry quoting you a guaranteed return is selling you something else.
What we can do is show you exactly what every rupee of setup buys, what the ongoing fees are, and what the cost lines in this business actually look like. That is what the rest of this page does.
The format decides your kitchen, your staff count, your space and your setup cost. A 60 sq ft tea counter in a metro station and a 400 sq ft micro restaurant are completely different businesses — choose on the site you can actually get, not on the one you like the sound of.
| Format | Space | Staff | Setup (indicative) | Best suited to |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| ☕ Tea & Coffee | 60–120 sq ft | 1–2 | ₹2.5 – 3.5 L | Metro exits, office lobbies, colleges, hospitals |
| 🥟 Snacks & Sweets | 100–180 sq ft | 2–3 | ₹3.0 – 4.0 L | Market streets, bus stands, evening high streets |
| 🍨 Ice Cream & Kulfi | 80–150 sq ft | 1–2 | ₹3.0 – 4.0 L | Malls, beach roads, temple streets, cinema foyers |
| 🥘 Healthy Breakfast | 150–250 sq ft | 2–4 | ₹3.5 – 4.5 L | Residential main roads, IT corridors, hostels |
| 🥗 Healthy Nutrition | 150–250 sq ft | 2–3 | ₹4.0 – 5.0 L | Gyms, tech parks, premium neighbourhoods |
| 🏭 Cloud Kitchen | 200–300 sq ft | 3–5 | ₹5.0 – 7.0 L | Delivery-only, cheap back-street rent near demand |
| 🍛 Micro Restaurant | 300–450 sq ft | 4–6 | ₹6.0 – 8.0 L | High-footfall main roads with seating space |
Setup ranges are indicative and exclude your rent, deposit, interiors beyond the standard fit-out, statutory licence fees and GST. Your actual figure is fixed in writing after the site review — never before.
Six line items. If something is not on this list, it is not included — and we would rather you knew that now than on the day the kitchen is being installed.
The right to trade as ZEN Z at one address for the term of the agreement. Signage, uniform, packaging artwork and the full brand kit come with it.
The counter or pod build, panelling, lighting, menu boards and exterior branding — installed, not shipped to you in boxes.
The equipment list for your format: griddles, steamers, fryers, chillers, blenders, prep tables. Specified by us, bought at our negotiated rates.
Billing tablet, printer, cash drawer, cameras and the live sales dashboard. Every sale is billed and visible — to you, from your phone, from anywhere.
142 tested recipes with exact gram weights and costs, plus 7–10 days of hands-on training for you and your first two staff.
Approved supplier list with agreed rates, opening stock, and a launch team on site for your first three trading days.
We will not fill in your revenue — that is the one number nobody can honestly predict for a site they have not seen. What we can do is name every cost line, so when you build your own projection you are not guessing at the inputs.
These two, and nothing else. There is no monthly software charge, no mandatory annual renewal fee and no minimum purchase quota.
"Net sales" means what your POS recorded, less GST and less refunds. It is billed monthly against your own dashboard figures, so there is nothing to reconcile and nothing to argue about.
Typical ranges for a small Indian F&B outlet. Your site will differ — rent especially — but these are the lines that decide whether an outlet works.
Add them up and you will see how much of this business is decided by two things: your rent, and whether you can hold food cost. Everything else is comparatively small.
Food outlets fail. The common reasons are a rent that was too high for the footfall, an owner who was never actually present, and food cost that drifted because nobody weighed anything. A brand and a system reduce those risks; they do not remove them. You could run a ZEN Z outlet properly and still lose money if the location is wrong — which is exactly why we do a site review before we take a rupee, and why we will tell you if we think your site will not work.
Usually 30 to 45 days. The slow parts are your licences and your landlord, not us.
You fill the form below, we call you within one working day. We talk about your city, your budget and whether you already have a site. No money changes hands and no documents are signed.
We look at your location, or help you judge one you are considering: footfall at the hours you would trade, competition, power load, water, drainage and whether it can be licensed. If it will not work, we say so here.
Your exact setup cost, itemised. The equipment list. The fee structure. The territory. The term. In writing, with time to read it and take advice on it.
Franchise agreement signed by both sides. Only now does the first payment happen, and only against an invoice for a defined scope of work.
We fit out and install while you complete FSSAI, GST and the trade licence. Your outlet is created on the ordering platform and your menu is loaded.
Seven to ten days of kitchen training for you and your staff, then two trial days cooking the real menu at real speed before a single customer is served.
You go live on this website and on the app the same morning you open the shutters. Our launch team is on site for the first three trading days.
The more you tell us here, the more useful the first call is. Everything on this form is used to judge the site — none of it is used to sell you anything else.
Five years, renewable. The territory protection, the renewal terms and the exit conditions are all written into the agreement you get at proposal stage — before any payment, with time to have a lawyer read it.
You buy the branded and recipe-critical items — spice blends, packaging, signature bases — through approved suppliers, because that is what keeps a dosa in Hubballi tasting like one in Koramangala. Vegetables, milk and staples you buy locally at whatever rate you can negotiate. There is no minimum purchase quota.
Prices, yes — you set your outlet's local prices from your dashboard, because your rent is not our rent. Recipes and dish specifications, no. You can request additions and we do add regional dishes where the case is good.
Yes, a defined radius around your outlet in which we will not open or license another ZEN Z of the same format. The radius depends on population density and is stated in the agreement, not agreed verbally.
You may sell the outlet to a buyer we approve, on the same terms, subject to a transfer fee. Or you can close it and return the branding. Neither is free and neither is hidden — both are set out in the agreement.
No, and the distinction matters. A ZEN Z franchise is you buying the right to operate a food outlet under our brand — you own the business, you take the profit, you carry the risk. BIC Ventures is a separate business consultancy and technology platform under the same group; it does not pool money, sell financial products or guarantee returns to anybody.
